300 is the Goal number required
in order to begin the AKC recognition process in the US to
Protect our RARE breed from Nasty
Anti-Breed(er) Legislation. LA California
has passed Mandatory Spay/Neuter of ALL dogs
over 4 months of age!!!
The attack on Breeders throughout the
US continues:
Breeders Bill passed by Virginia House of Delegates,
Moves to Senate
Similar bills to the one that passed in LA California
are being pushed in south FL and NJ.
Negative
impact of spay/neuter legislation: "Spayed or
neutered dogs more at risk for cancers, other ills,
research shows"

There are at least
30+ UNRECORDED Pequenos in the US.

Many of these were born in the US over the
last year.
Imports used for
Breeding must be AKC DNA'd, which can
take about 6 weeks to process!
MAKE SURE
any puppy you plan to purchase comes with
AKC-FSS papers as a minimum.
There are 315 Pequenos recorded with AKC-FSS,
a further 30+ unrecorded and 10 recorded
with less than 3 generation pedigree.
Goal
of 300 has been met Plus we have been
successful in changing the FSS rules to
allow more FSS breeds access to AKC Misc.
Classes sooner. Now 150 is required to
automatically be moved to AKC Misc.
The breed is expected to move into AKC Misc. Classes
Jan. 2011 according to FSS staff in writing. |

Tuesday, March 16, 2010
- There are 315 AKC-FSS recorded Pequenos with 3 Generation Pedigrees
and a further 10 Pequeno's with less than a 3 Generation
Pedigree. There are a further 30+ with 3 generation
pedigrees yet to be recorded.
This brings our total to: 350 Pequeno's
with several more litters due through spring 2010.
Unfortunately, many of the unrecorded animals are
Domestic born puppies from 4 breeders that are "Slow"
with paperwork shall we say...... and several Imports
that have been in the country for several years now, yet
they remain un-recorded.
Go to:
AKC.org,
Login or create a "MY AKC" account. Then on the left
hand side, Under title: My dogs and Litters, click on:
Manage dogs.
Once there, you can "ADD dogs". You can put
in a dogs name to see if they are recorded. If they are,
their AKC-FSS number will appear under the dogs name.
